There are some people that seem to have a gift for identifying a problem and then creating a solution that not only fixes the issue, but that provides real, significant improvement.
Pandwe A. Gibson is one of these people. Dr. Gibson has been an innovator both in her role as an educator as well as known in her role as a green entrepreneur and business owner.
The list of degrees held by Pandwe A. Gibson is impressive. She has an M.A from Claremont Graduate University, a Bachelor of Arts from Scripps College, A Master in Leadership from Harvard Graduate School and a Master In Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her most recent degree, including a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University.
In addition, Dr. Gibson has spent time traveling, studying, and even teaching abroad. She was worked or studied at both Oxford University in the United Kingdom as well as the University of Logon in Accra Ghana.
Early Work In School Systems
Her passion for creating improvements in the world around her was first recognized when Pandwe A. Gibson co-founded the first Charter Management Organization for schools in the Southern United States. Starting with just six schools, but the end of the third year the number was up to 16 schools, with improvements in student achievement through areas of New Orleans hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina.
Today, Dr. Gibson has turned her focus on improvement to the Green Corridor area of Miami. She has created a revolutionary new company called EcoTech Visions, which is a maker space and incubator for green businesses. Through the support of EcoTech Visions, small Mom and Pop businesses, as well as local entrepreneurs focusing on green technology, have a place to gather, learn, and complete light manufacturing to help their businesses to thrive.
