There are some people that make a significant improvement in the world they live in. Dr. Pandwe A. Gibson is one such person. Dr. Gibson moved to the Miami area and immediately noticed the lack of opportunities for green businesses, particularly those that were startup businesses or small Mom and Pop companies that wanted to move into green manufacturing, technology or services.
Experience and Education
Rather than simply noting this, Dr. Pandwe A. Gibson decided to make a difference. She already had experience in creating innovation in her field. While teaching in New Orleans, she noted the need to develop a more unified approach to student learning and achievement, and she co-founded the first Charter Management Organization in the Southern United States. In the first year, six schools were included, and by the third year, there were sixteen schools involved, all showing improvement in student achievement.
With an impressive education and holding a Ph.D., M. Ed, MBA, and M.A, Dr. Gibson has extensive experience in all areas of business development. Her focus in the last few years has been in assisting small green businesses from concept through to marketing and then expanding to mid-sized companies.
Today, Dr. Pandwe A. Gibson focuses her efforts on her company, EcoTech Visions. This is an incubator and maker space with a focus on supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses that are involved in green manufacturing, products, and services. There are over 75 companies in the Miami area that have already benefited from the services offered at EcoTech Visions.
In addition to providing physical workspaces, a prototyping lab, and light manufacturing space, EcoTech Visions also provides full business resources. With in-house tech support, training, professional development, and mentoring, the entire business is designed to assist others in creating a truly green economy and focus in the Miami area.
