Immediately upon meeting Pandwe Gibson, her knowledge of green technology and business innovations is apparent. At the same time, it is impossible not to notice her sense of commitment to people in the community, and particularly people who have not had the opportunities to train for careers in underserved areas of the city.
Rather than just advocate for these communities and for the importance of sustainable production and manufacturing options, Pandwe Gibson took it upon herself to do something about these issues. The result is EcoTech Visions, one of the most innovative companies in the Miami area.
Located in the Green Corridor of Miami, EcoTech Visions is more than just a building. It is Pandwe Gibson’s concept of creating an incubator and maker space for small business owners, the Mom and Pop companies, looking for a way to integrate and focus on green innovation and production.
Through EcoTech Visions, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators in the Miami area now have a place to work, collaborate, and learn. The building hosts training, provides physical and virtual offices and offers a range of business resources along with a prototyping lab, machines and technology, and even access to business coaches, marketing support and website design services.
Within EcoTech Visions, Pandwe Gibson also provides training for the community at no cost to the individuals. This Digital Bootcamp allows people to learn the latest skills in IT, including coding, HTML, website operation, and a range of other essential skills.
This not only provides training, but it gives people without the resources to go to a college or a vocational school, the skills needed to get more than basic jobs. It allows them to develop their skills to be able to find better jobs that not only help themselves, but that also help the entire community.
